AES GCM

AES GCM, or Advanced Encryption Standard Galois/Counter Mode, is a widely adopted symmetric encryption mode known for its strong security and efficiency. It combines both encryption and authentication in a single mode, making it well-suited for securing data in various applications, including network communication, cloud storage, and securing IoT devices.

In AES GCM, a unique initialization vector (IV) is used for each message or packet, ensuring that even if the same plaintext is encrypted multiple times, the resulting ciphertext will be different. This property helps prevent patterns in the encrypted data, enhancing security.

Furthermore, AES GCM provides data integrity through a built-in authentication mechanism, which detects any unauthorized alterations to the ciphertext. This feature ensures that not only is the data confidential, but it also remains unaltered during transmission or storage.

AES GCM is popular in modern cryptography due to its strong security guarantees and computational efficiency, making it a preferred choice for securing sensitive information in a wide range of applications.
